1950's Audrey Hepburn-Inspired Bride

We're going to my favorite place, the seaside, for that wedding of Lauren, a clinical psychologist and fashion and sweetness blogger, and Sam, a learning disabilities nurse.

They wed in a favorite beach-side spot of theirs, Dorset, on 8 June 2019 per day which combined minimalist styling with some vintage twists along with a pop of azure blue.

The bride was lucky enough to get find a beautifully-cut ball gown wedding dress whose clean silhouette and bateau neckline suited her day-to-day 1950s style. It channels an Audrey Hepburn vibe, especially using the wonderful beehive hairdo! She found this beauty in Hampshire. Its classic design allowed her to proudly showcase her scar from a surgical procedure for scoliosis. Take a look too at the beautiful, lacy shawl which she hand-knitted.

"I dress myself in quite a classic, 1950s style most time so I wanted a thing that fitted that style. I loved the Bardot neckline and nipped-in waist and adored the long train and mid-back; I was built with a and I'm quite proud of the scar. Also, perhaps you have seen the astonishing pleats around the skirt?"

"Sam comes from Dover and the family has spent many summers visiting Highcliffe. When we went to live in Bournemouth it had been lovely to accept dogs for walks around there. The gardens are beautiful, it's right around the beach, and also the building is stunning."

"The venue is beautiful with huge windows, plenty of light, bare brick along with a huge stained glass window. We didn't wish to take away from it but allow it to shine. We love greenery so had plenty of it with ivory touches."

"We had blue for that bridesmaid for any pop of color; we chose our photographers because we loved their colorful style and I were built with a panic there is no color to allow them to capture!" Click

The civil ceremony occurred in the light and airy conservatory at Highcliffe Castle and was led by the local registrar, Mary.

"My lovely dad, John, walked me on the aisle to 'Bloom' by Rhodes. It’s an attractive song about love growing and it has a beautiful, swelling end. We made the ceremony as personal as you possibly can by having our favorite love songs."

Sam wore a bespoke, tailored suit from in London having a tie to tone along with the bridesmaids' dresses.

Lauren grew up within the Shetland Isles and extremely wanted a Scottish element. A ceilidh band for that evening partying was an ideal choice following a first dance to 'God Only Knows by The Beach Boys.

"We love this song, we like The Beach Boys and I love the film ‘Love Actually' so it features on."

After meeting at the office seven years back, Sam proposed in March 2018 using the wedding planned for 14 months later. What I love about these photos is that everyone appears like they are having just a lot of fun.

"My favorite parts were walking in the aisle to Sam within the ceremony and also the speeches. My dad made reference to some troll I were built with a paddy over like a four-year-old and shocked me by bringing it along; I hadn't seen it for two-and-a-half decades! Sam's favorite part was the ceilidh since it got everyone involved. I've were built with a few texts from individuals who twisted their ankles and also got bruised from dancing so difficult; manifestation of a good wedding I think."

Words of Wedded Wisdom

"Try to not sweat the little stuff. It's very hard when you're getting ready for any wedding and everyone is asking you to make choices about stuff you might not have a viewpoint on. Trust your suppliers; they’ve carried this out loads before and also you picked them for any reason so allow them to help you are making decisions."
